Has any one else had problems when switching energy having their Meter serial number transferred to their new supplier?

Your electricity meter serial number is linked to your MPAN. What exactly is the problem?0

OK - I have seen your other post. When a property is built it us allocated a MPAN for electricity and a MPRN for gas. The meter serial numbers are linked to the MPAN and the MPRN.The MPAN and the MPRN are then registered on the two National databases against a property address. Sometimes this registration process can go wrong. For example, if the Council hasn’t allocated a postal address to a property, the developer will register the property as Plot 6. Sadly, the word Plot often gets lost in the registration process and a mis-registration occurs.
Only your present supplier can update the two National Databases. The key thing here is that the meter serial numbers must NOT be de-linked from their respective MPAN and MPRN.0 -
Thanks for responding. EDF blame the problem in the new fast switching system that hasn't given them the MSN code which can then activate the switch. Apparently other energy companies have the same problem since end of July 2022?0
