Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Dark, dry and chilly start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was shepherds pie with veg and gravy. Tonight will be gammon, egg and chips.
Hoping work should be ok today, working Saturday morning also.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.Still dark, all I know is it's not raining.Sorry to hear your takeaway was disappointing Nels - we used to love a takeaway years ago, but now, I don't know, they're often not hot enough, not tasty enough, and cost far too much, so we don't have them.Coxy, just as well you're wfh. if the colleagues are grumpy, even if you have to meet up on the screen at least you're not with them.NRA, sounds like exciting times ahead for you!Dp1, the community seem to be behind your school, and you're getting publicity, hope it all works.Izzy, you sound busy as usual, hope you don't have to wait too long for your vinyl to be laid.I went to the Metrocentre yesterday, the shoes I had my eye on in M&S are still out of stock, and out of stock online, black loafers that I thought looked nice. Hey ho, I might get them eventually.Hope everyone has a good day today - take care folks.8

Morning folks and thanks NMLC for starting us off.
It feels a bit chilly this morning but I refrained from putting the heating on! A fine but dull day is forecast after yesterday's torrential bursts which came in fits and starts. The bus was late coming up yesterday morning, meaning I missed the bus I intended to get along the valley. Rather than wait for the next I decided to go to Ilkley instead as I haven't been in ages. Despite the rain it was quite busy although quieter than usual. I poked my nose in a few charity shops but they really don't know what to charge there these days. They are asking silly money so I wasn't tempted to buy anything. A branch of the Yorkshire Soap Company has opened a new shop since my last visit and the gorgeous scent wafting through the open door almost tempted me in - but not quite!
Today jobs await and I must change my bed as well. I am still doing battle with the SK and really should start looking for a smaller bed. I know, I have been saying that for some time now.!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies or fed up. Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -
Morning all
It's chilly down south, no heating on yet, my DP, being a Northern boy often tells me I'm nesh. Day 4 of kitchen work and they are finally making progress. I'm off to do two of my cleaning jobs today. I need to pop to the shops to find some simple stuff for tea. Have a fabulous day all7 -
Morning everyone it’s dry at the moment but for how long I don’t know off to work soon I am going to take some more washing in to do just to keep on top of it until my washer is put back in we had to lift the wheelie bin over the top of it last night as we couldn’t get it past it at least it will be lighter to lift back in this morning.fish out for tonight hubby is having something with sausage make it nice and easy .TA I visit the soap company when I’ve been to York at Xmas and the imaginarium next door to it very tempting I’ve bought some lovely things from there to put in presents. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing8

Morning..It's very brrr! this morning, I have switched the heating on for an hour to take the chill off. It might be fire lighting time tonight..Did some of the washing yesterday [3 loads], got caught out by changeable weather, even though the skies were sunny and cold, ten minutes later, last very prolonged shower of the day rinsed the clothes again...Oh well, they'll dry today...And I definitely need more pegs. Two more today, sheets, and a blanket or two that smells musty and then I'm done I think. The cats are vying over who gets to sit and sleep in the suitcase so that's still on the floor because it's the law. If a cat is sleeping somewhere, you can't move it...
More organising, sorting, tidying today, then feed the other cats, then meet friends for coffee and a catch up and that's my boring day over with. And we will be going to somewhere next week to look for a new mattress. It used to be lovely before aches and pains set in and now both of us are groaning every time we turn over.
dp1, hope you're successful. snoozer, hope you feel better today..Izzy, congratulations on the weight loss! You too Rosy! You too Coxy! and omg, still painting?! TA, they are told what to charge but honestly, some of them are not on this planet. Why would you pay more for a second hand t shirt or shirt when a new one is far less? It's the same with household stuff, etc. About the only thing that's fairly consistent is books. But I suppose it pays the wages of those who get the wages...[grrr....rant over] Madbat, I'm softie living in the south and I gave in this morning...My fleece lined dressing gown is not cutting it...Izzy, hope you have a good day..Gers, happy shopping and appointments..Nanny, hope your appointment went ok and no side effects from jabs..Take care all, it's c-c-c-cold!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi10 -
Morning all, and thanks for the start nmlc x
I'm home alone for a few days as DH has gone camping in Cornwall with friends - rather him than me! Things I will do whilst he's not here: turn heating down or even off (he started using it when I was away last week), eat up single portions of things in the fridge and freezer, paint the walls in our bedroom x 2, clear the ironing pile, declutter at least another 2 bags for the charity shop, oh and WFH x 3 days lol! My BFF is coming late Saturday afternoon and we will go out for dinner or get a takeaway. Looking forward to seeing her as it's been months.
The fur is flying at work - so glad I'm working from my kitchen table until next week (desk and office set up now piled up in spare room pending wood floor fitting...) We have been asked to go in twice a week from November and some people are moaning!
I will have a mixed grill tonight, using plant-based sausages from A!di - hopefully they will be tasty.
I've changed to soap bars in the last 18 months @TravellingAbuela - will now be searching for that company on-line, so thank you!
Hope the poorlies are doing okay @snoozer and Nate, and thinking of you @poppy811 xx
@dp1 fingers crossed someone sees sense about the school x
@newroadahead - exciting house news!
Hope you all have a good day.

Morning all.Rain lashed down all night, the windows took a battering. Now it's bit brighter, so far.My day in Glasgow was a tad fraught. I got down OK even though the Rest was closed so came down the Old Military Road in a convoy. It's a long winding road with a couple of really tight and sharp bends which the big lorries struggle to get round. It was laid by soldiers under the command of General Wade in about 1730.Once in Glasgow I whizzed round JL, the post office and Costco. When I was at Costco my tyre air pressure light came on again, a chap at the tyre place there did checks and found one almost flat. They couldn't help so I drove to a Kwik Fit, they were fully booked too but the nice chap there directed me to a small back street place. The two chaps there were great. In the pouring rain (no inside workshop) they very quickly got the car jacked up, then I couldn't find the locking nut. 😱 Finally I phoned my car dealer who told me where it was. The tyre had a drill bit in it so one new tyre later I was on my way.Half an hour later the warning later pinged on again. This time I was near to a Halfords were a very cheery chap checked. Seems that the pressure sensors are very sensitive and affected by temperatures- a bit like me. 😀 Anyway, all's well and I arrived home safe but all a-quiver, had a coffee and went to bed.Today my only excitement is an audiology appointment.TA - can you keep the bed and buy a smaller duvet? Even a single duvet would be enough for you.Time to rise. I hope that everyone is doing well. Happy Thursday to all.10

Morning all. Bright and sunny here atm so I'm going to hang out the washing once I've finished my cup of tea.
Our friendly plumber is already upstairs removing the broken shower cubicle but he's asked us to take it to the tip. We should be able to get an appointment for this afternoon and hopefully it will fit in DH's car with the back seat down. Then to tackle the sticking valve on the ch pump.
I might disappear out of the way in a while and leave the chaps to it. Need to get a bit of food shopping in and can look at a few other bits whilst I'm out.
Have a good day everyone.9 -
Morning all
Dry and bright here and set to be a nice day, off to work with my private client today, I love Thursdays as he is such a lovely chap.
Going to leave work with him a bit early and get my shopping done he loves helping in the shop, I will see if his elderly mum needs anything while we are out.
DD working late tonight so just OH and I here for dinner, I think I will get something quick like a pizza and some salad.
Will have a quick tidy before I leave today and put a wash on, dw has been emptied this morning.
Have good days all xxx10 -
Morning everyone
Windy here but the sun is shining so hopefully the house will warm up a little.
I have work later and then an appointment for blood tests which will hopefully not take too long - sometimes it involves several nurses!
Thanks for all the good wishes re school...hopefully we can make the powers that be see sense.
I need to finish my Tesco shopping this morning - every fortnight I seem to get less for my money. Have to be careful what I spend as my Universal Credit is being adjusted due to working less hours because of the Long Covid.
Hoping everyone has a good day today x
