    In your speech or Alexa's?

In Alexa's speech, there is a speed control that can help make the speech flow slower and more understandable.   This is accessible by voice command:  "Alexa, speak slower".

If you mean your speech, Alexa will tolerate a range of speaking speeds.  However, you need to complete commands within a certain time otherwise the dialog is cancelled.  AFAIK, this is not configurable.   You can use routines to create more condensed versions of commands, if you find that you often run out of time.
  • Nooo...i am not talking about the 1st one. Say you want to leave a reminder to Alexa and you want to type a reminder saying "I will be home late tonight. So, Don't wait for me "....so in this statement can Alexa not leave a little silence, pause or a mute after the words "late tonight" & "so". Right now if i typed this statement as a reminder it will say it as a non-stop train. it won't even mute for 0.20 seconds. Does anyone know any solution?

Adding a full stop in the Alexa app adds a pause.  Just tested it "Don't forget to stop now" all one sentence as expected but
"Don't. Forget. To. Stop. Now."   Added suitable pauses between each word.

Tried adding multiple full stops... in a row and with spacing. . . neither made any difference.

    Create a routine instead?

    Thank you all.

Will try the full stop thing. Lets see. I do create a lot of routines like, announcing the time every hour. But sadly it won't do it. I do that in routines.
  • + I cant believe that there is no slot for a memory card. These days a £25 phone has a memory card slot. I don't even know how to listen to my own favorite downloaded music unless i buy from Amazon Music.

Why would it need a memory card? Connected to your network so almost anything is possible. Phones often have more than
enough storage without the need for memory cards. Not used my memory card slot in the last 3 phones I have owned.

Tray with many SD cards sitting unused, all sizes from 32MB upto 64GB.

  • YES....I TRIED IT, A DOT OR FULLSTOP DOES LEAVE A TINY BIT MORE SILENCE BUT YOU NEED TO TYPE A SENTENCE LIKE THIS IN ROUTINE : (again my apologies for caps locks, wish the PC some how beeped when caps locks is on & you are trying to type.
it beeped when my PC was on caps lock.
the sentence you would type
