Male cat meowing

please help

I have a 10 yr old male nuetered house cat.

every year he cos about a month constant meowing, theres food water, litter cleaned.  i play with him, i have tried everything, he drives me crazy n actually gives me a head ache.
i have another 9 yr old neutered house cat, he has never done this.

any advice great appreciated.

    He  can probably smell  a female cat that is ready to mate .and is 'calling' to her.

    Take him to the vet and ask for a thyroid check, do it urgently as this can affect his heart. In my experience this has/ can be the cause of the constant talking to you.

    Since it for one month each year it is unlikely to be a medical issue.

    If you haven't taken him to a vet for a check, it might be a good idea, just to put your mind at rest. Probably a good idea to take him during his meowing phase, too.

    everytime hes been to vet hes gets a clean bill of health. since posting this i have spoken to a vet helplone, they said it cld well be change in weather as he has always done it.
  • My cat did this, go through phases over their whole life.

    Definitely wasnt medical because as they got old there was blood tests. Lived to 21.

    Same here with our 12 year old neutered tom.  Sometimes he's more vocal than others, but always had a clean bill of health so far.  He can be really annoying meowing when he wants ...
