Epson V600

Options
I bought the above scanner and successfully scanned in a load of pics and slides.  Having completed the process I stopped using the scanner, however, I've now found some more.
But I couldn't remember how to use it, so connected it to the mains, then plugged it into my laptop.  There was the usual noise when plugging in a USB item, but that was all, nothing showed up on the screen.
Can somebody help?  Each time I unplug it, there's the sound, and then plugging in again, there's the sound, but nothing on the screen.

TIA
David.

You normally would have to use a scanning application, I wouldn't expect anything to show up by just plugging it in. I would have thought Epson would have such an application as part of the initial software installation.

Windows Fax and Scan is built in to 10 (or there is the Scan app):

Or you can look the unit up on Epson's website and download Epson Scan from there.

I've found the Scan software under Epson in the Programmes, Epson Scan 2, but it eventually says that it's unable to connext to the network scanner.
I've found, under Printeres and Scanners, the scanner listed, but it says that the driver is unavailable!!
