We have just received a message saying our rate will be moving from fixed to Variable. Is this a good thing or bad thing. We are in energy club. Is this part of it ?

It might be a good thing. Which supplier are you with, and what was your fixed tariff?I very much doubt that MSEs Cheap Energy Club had anything to do with the change.N. Hampshire, he/him. It's already been stated that if you are on fixed tariff that is higher than the variable tariff and are at a financial disadvantage from doing so then they will automatically move you to the variable tariff as otherwise you will be paying more on the fixed rate tariff. They won't switch anyone who is not at a financial disadvantage.wittynamegoeshere said:Shouldn't the decision to end a fixed rate be the customer's, rather than the supplier's? Can a supplier switch someone from a fixed rate without their consent?

Just to add, if the supplier is, as I suspect Eon Next, the customer could always contact them asking them to re-instate the financial disadvantage by electing to stay on the more expensive fix rate (for whatever reason) if that is what the customer wantsAstria said:

Variable or fixed? Unless the Government makes a ‘U’ turn, the EPG is to all intents and purposes a 2 year fixed tariff.0
