British Gas Poor Record since changover

Transferred to British Gas for dual supply last year. BG took over 6 months to use the DD set up and take payments, sending me bills. Constant stream of complaints with them since being moved. Latest is that I was £600 in credit and asked for half of this back. Received a refund, but then sent a statement for April-September with none of the money taken from my Bank Account showing on this. Asked for statement showing both charges and payments made - one promised and not received. Am I unusual in expecting a statement that shows usage, what I owe, and payments made? This is what I had with other providers, and thought it was a legal requirement. Also told I was getting another credit I did not ask for which has not happened. Today without notice my payments have doubled - more than percentage suggested on MSE. As a single person household I will be paying approx £3,500 a year, well about the average bill. They have been overestimating my usage and reject readings they say are lower than expected. BG knows I was hundreds of pounds in credit, so no idea why my increase is so high. Complained yet again. When I access my account online there is nothing there - no past statements, and it asks me set up a Direct Debit when I already have one set up. Feeling very stressed today and having spent months making complaints to British Gas which are never fully dealt with, I am wondering how easy it is to move Supplier now. I know costs may not be lower but are there Companies out there that have better Customer Service and provide clear statements on what customers have paid, as well as used? Any info appreciated.

Oh yeah, they messed up my switch back last year too. Gas was fine, elec took months and a complaint that I had to chase 5-6 time and no contact from them. Right now I'm supposed to have a bill but it just says something along the line of "sorry, there's a problem. . ." on the site. The usage information is about 3 weeks behind - not to mention their figures do not quite match what the Bright app tell me for my useage, I know who I trust more. I'm very interested to see what they say my DD should be now as I've been over paying for most of the year.0
