POPLA Reference not working

Good morning all,
I am quite used to getting Parking eye or similar letters as i oversee a large number of remote UK based technicians who work away from home nationally throught the UK.
Occasionally get letters stating the vehicle registrations not registered at a hotel on a certain night during a 5 night stay but i send over proof of payment, hotel stay and vehicle GPS tracking data and the appeals are always susccesful.
Received one in December of 2021 for Holiday inn express london for a technician who registered the car there on the Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings but they are saying it was not registered on the Tuesday, okay send over proof of hotel stay and payment etc and never heard anything until September 2022 when they reissued the original fine to us, so i responded with the same information and today recieved an appeal rejection notice dated the 28th Septemebr 2022 with a POPLA reference which is invalid on POPLA's online system, spoke with POPLA and they cant help.
Stuck on what to do with this one as i dont have any way of contacting parking eye requesting a up-to-date POPLA Reference number?
Any advice?

Complain to the PPC and the BPA that you have been supplied with an invalid PoPLA code.
Plan A is always for the keeper to complain to the landowner and MP.
It is not a fine.

There is no email address that I can see, but others may know of one from previous contact with PE.

What's the middle three numbers before the 2? That tells us the date the POPLA Code was generated.
Which PPC?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you for your replies.
I have 10 numbers in total - middle three are 0890 -
I am quite frustrated with this one. As we use the hotel monthly and it's quite clear we were staying at the hotel.
Surely the invoice should be sufficient and always has been in the past.

just spoke with the hotel and they are trying to get it cancelled at there end - helps that we had a £3400 spend with them in the last 12 months

A not-so-subtle hint that, "other hotels are available" should focus the hotel manager's mind.
If you 'phoned someone at the hotel, send an email backing up your request, plus the hint about what will happen if it isn't cancelled.
Everything should always be in writing as a 'phone call is not worth the paper upon which it is writ if it gets to court.

If so:
Send it to Sara Roberts at the BPA:
Sara.r@britishparking.co.uk
Head it up FORMAL COMPLAINT ABOUT PARKINGEYE and ask whether the BPA condones ParkingEye sending an appeal rejection letter dated last week, with a POPLA Code that was generated on March 30th?
