Booking through Lastminute.com

I booked a hotel room through Lastminute.com it was a US hotel but the price quoted was in Pounds. I gave my credit card details etc. When I got me credit card bill I had been charged £36.71 more.

I expect they are going to say its to do with the exchange rate, but i feel its unreasonable to quote prices in pounds when thats not what you pay,

Can I query this?

What does it say on your invoice from Last minute?
Does this invoive mention any service charge at all?

What were you quoted and what were you charged?

I didnt see any mention of a service charge. It just says lastminute.com is acting as an agent for the hotel and I will be charged directly by the supplier.

I was quoted 1039.43 but charged 1076.14.

Ive emailed lastminute.com but so far i had no reply. Maybe I should email the hotel?

I imagine that your CC/ debit card will have charged a loading fee on top of the amount charged by Last Minute. The above equates to approx 3.5%.

Did you check the small print?

Sometimes it they do slyly fit in some 2-3% charge depending on payment method etc.
