Has anyone got any experience of a company called Konexo? They are acting as solicitors for our buyers lender (we assume their own lender was not on the lenders panel). We've been sat waiting for 4 weeks for them to give the authorisation to proceed on our buyers being able to exchange (all other members of the chain have been ready for 4 weeks).

They have absolutely terrible reviews on trust pilot with pretty much all of them saying the same thing as us, they are holding up the sale/purchase and risking the chains collapsing (some did according to the reviews). We are totally stuck, our buyers solicitors are apparently chasing them daily but they have now passed some piece of information onto the valuer to check it doesn't affect property value. If not then we could be in a position to exchange but they have done this multiple times with other questions so we may not be there yet.

Is there anyone we can complain to? They are not acting for us, just our buyers lender. Totally at our wits end now!

Your buyers need to deal with it via their Mortgage Co.

They are chasing daily apparently with their solicitor, I've suggested they contact the lender directly (not sure who it is, Konexo work for Legal and General,  Aviva among others) but not sure if they have managed to or not. I can ask again

You can't complain about somebody else's solicitors merely being slow. You complain to your buyers about your buyers being slow, they need to sort it out in turn by complaining to their lender.

Isn't your own solicitor giving you advice about how best to progress the transaction? This is after all the sort of thing they do on a daily basis.

Aviva and L&G? Is this an equity release/lifetime mortgage issue?

If so, the inclusion of another solicitor isn't because the purchaser's solicitor isn't on the lender's panel it's because such lenders always insist on separate representation.

Yes she has been, all she says we can do is wait. As do our buyers solicitors.

I used an ER mortgage about 3 years ago to move house. My chosen solicitor acted for the ER lender as well as me. There were no "extra" solicitors.

    Interesting. Which lender, please?
