Airport drop off charges

Cars are convenient - at a cost that many people are willing to pay- which is why they attract so many taxes for their use- fuel duty, VAT, VED etc. This is just another cost for the convenience of personal transport.
A relative lost their driving licence, as a result of a health condition, so had enforced use of public transport to maintain their independence, despite other relatives being willing to provide lifts. The person holidayed regularly from a rural area flying from Edinburgh - local bus to a big town, megabus to the park and ride, then switch to an airport bus. They always claimed it was quite straightforward, with a bonus being the free bus pass.
If you don't or can't use a car, there is usually a workaround.
