YBS frozen account + requested ID

Recently opened an account. Deposited £1k yesterday. I recieved a letter this morning saying my account was frozen due to information that suggests my details have been used to impersonate me to open the account.
I have opened a lot of accounts over the years, with a lot of providers, and never had this happen. And I mean, a lot!
Letter told me to call them so I did. Told me to send 3 forms of photocopied ID by post or they'll end up closing the account, but couldn't give me a timeline of when that'll happen nor an explanation as to why I was able to make a deposit yesterday when the letter is dated 29 Sept. And they don't accept scans via e-mail. Accessable online my ****! Letter also threatened that a CIFAS could be added to my credit report which would result in additional checks for future account applications with other providers.
I'd rather they just close the account and I'll put my money elsewhere but now I'm worried if I don't send them ID they'll also add a CIFAS. I'm off on holiday at the end of the week so no time to.
Sorry - just a warning to people / a rant.

They are required in law to identify customers correctly, so if they see an inconsistency with your application, they can't just choose to ignore it.We have no way of knowing what the problem is, but it might - for example - be that someone has already attempted to open an account using parts of your details. If that has happened, it's quite likely that you would be unaware that it had happened.
