If you've got LED bulbs then turning off lights is going to make virtually no difference to costskittyJ_2 said:Hehe a huge sigh I've turned everything off peeing in the dark and I know my energy usage is lower then average anyway but its just me so need to be carful
If you don't have LED bulbs then it will be cost effective to get them and then you can pee in the light! Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.4 -
I switched out to led lights a year or so ago
it's hard to know what to do for the best today I've currently been worrying about how much my coffee addiction is costing in using the kettle I only put the water I need in to boil 0 -
Don’t ask what it costs, ask if it’s worth what it costs.kittyJ_2 said:I switched out to led lights a year or so ago

The Lord said "Let there be light".
The man replied "That's most kind, but I'll just have a coffee to go if it's not too much trouble".

Mine is 75.13p per day or £274.23 per year. In 2018 that £274 would have being most of my yearly electric and gas bill which for the year was £340. How times have changed in 4 years with my yearly bill now in excess of £900.Someone please tell me what money is0

If only life was as simple as comparing the energy usage cost of bulbs.kittyJ_2 said:I switched out to led lights a year or so ago
it's hard to know what to do for the best today I've currently been worrying about how much my coffee addiction is costing in using the kettle I only put the water I need in to boil I have chip-on-board LED lamps (installed by my developer) which are designed for 40,000 hours of use. Sadly, each lamp holder requires an AC to DC driver which like most cheap circuit boards are quick to fail at a cost of £7 - per replacement (whilst stocks last.)The manufacturer has recently introduced a replacement lamp model and it has cleverly hard-wired the driver to the lamp holder. The failure of a driver now needs a new lamp holder and a driver at a cost of £20.0
