you could try covering reflective materials below the level of the sensor that could be causing the problem and see if that pinpoints it.
where is the sensor located on the mirror?
It's on the bottom, a little right of centre. They say to have the sensor at least 15cms from a surface and it's much more than that from the sink. I did wonder if the tap was setting it off but, like I said when it is covered in a towel the sensor still goes off.

I'm particularly baffled as to why 3000k GU10 bulbs didn't set it off, but when I switched to 2700k ones it suddenly does. I assume it must be the same warmth of light as the sunny daylight that does the same thing.
It's driving me a bit crazy, and you're right a waranty claim seems to be the only option. It literally started doing this the first morning after it was installed a few weeks ago. They'd better have a good solution...

I assume it must be the same warmth of light as the sunny daylight that does the same thing. It’s actually been really helpful to have the bulbs set it off, as I have been able to experiment and try covering the window and sinks and taps etc.
This morning was the last of my tests. I made sure every light, every electrical device (apart from the fridge) was off all night - and when I got up, it was a bright sunny day and the mirror light was on.It can only have been the sunlight that triggered it, as nothing else was on.0 -
Hi All,
Just a quick update: The manufacturer have admitted that there is a fault in the sensor on a batch of these mirrors and are sending a replacement in the next week or so.
I've asked them to cover the cost of an eletricician removing the current one and reinstalling the replacement but they are saying they will not cover installation costs. I'm not happy about this obviously. I covered the original installation costs of course, but if the item was faulty from day one and they are admitting fault, is it wrong that I expect them to cover the reinstallation costs?
Any thoughts on how to push them on this?
