Scottish Power want to increase my d/d by more than three times what I’m paying now for my gas. I’ve said I can’t afford to triple the d/d and have offered an alternative amount but they have refused to change my d/d unless it’s to the amount they recommended.

  • Unless we know how much you are using and at what price, we can’t possibly help.

It’s no use saying “I can’t afford that DD” if that’s how much you are actually using.

Do you know your usage? Actual annual is best. And your old prices and the prices you are on now?

Even if you haven’t changed usage, the price has roughly doubled since last winter I think, so that’s a big part of it.

Were you one a fixed tariff that has ended recently? If so it is not unlikely that you see an increase of 200%.
