So Energy - inaccurate inflated consumption forecast, thus grossly inflated direct debit. Beware!

I've been with So Energy for 5 years, previously a regular switcher. Now on a variable tariff. I make equal monthly direct debit payments.
With their latest direct debit review I noted that they forecast my electricity usage for the forthcoming year to rise by 40%, and gas by 10% !!
I submit meter reads monthly so my bills are accurate. However, the consumption over-forecast unnecessarily pushes up my direct debit. This means I pay more than I need to while they earn the interest on that money. It also means that under their 'refund policy' that even if my account is in credit they can withhold 2 months worth of this over-inflated direct debit amount.
I suggest that this overforecast is not peculiar to me, or to So Energy - so my advice is to check your forecasts carefully and dispute if need be.
