Car insurance following death of owner

    Absolutely, as soon as the policy is cancelled then it means the owner (executor) will be breaking the continuous insurance rules as the car will be taxed but with no insurance in place. Doing that immediately on death gives no opportunity for the family to sort anything out to prevent that happening.
    Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

    The continuous insurance law applies to the keeper, not the owner, so no-one is breaking the law until a new keeper is nominated
    Also, strictly speaking the vehicle is no longer taxed after the keeper dies.
