DCB Legal - Parking Eye

Hi, have received many letters about an unpaid parking charge from Parkingeye over the last couple of years and have ignored them all (pretty sure that's not what I should have done, but that's what I did). I've now got a letter from DCB Legal headed "Solicitors Reminder Letter - Unpaid Parking Charge Notice." I'm planning on ignoring this as well, but just wanted to check I'm doing the right thing. I've had a read of the Newbies thread but am a little lost. From what I understand, as long as I don't receive a "letter of claim" then I should be okay just ignoring this - is that right? And if I do receive a "letter of claim," then that's when I actually have to start doing something about it? Apologies if I'm an idiot and these are stupid questions!

That's the right thing to do.

You might be better calling it "take no action" as opposed to "ignoring" as you may receive a letter before/of claim and then a N1 claim form.  It will be better for you if you are forearmed with knowledge and information and be in a better place to deal.  Read the template defence and a few other posters defences and see what you might come up with should the need arise.  Do you have all the paperwork relating to the parking event or will you need to submit a SAR to the PPC (acronyms in the fifth post of the NEWBIE sticky).

No I don't think I have any paperwork anymore so would have to submit a SAR. Can't even remember what it was. I'll definitely go over the Newbies sticky a few times and try to get my head around everything. Is it worth me appealing/complaining now, or, seeing as I "took no action" initially, should I just carry on with that if/until I receive a letter before/of claim?

Are you in Scotland? If not, which car park is it about, maybe an Aldi or a Hospital?

Unusual for PEye not to sue.  Must be a place where they don't want to litigate.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

We have seen this a few times where ParkingEye pass this to DCBL.

Are you aware of the Beavis v ParkingEye case in the Supreme court ?

The ruling was that the parking charge covered the costs of operating the scheme

DCBL will have added £60-£70 which is fakery.   Not what the SUPREME COURT RULED ?

    CONCLUSION:
A last ditch attempt to recover old parking tickets
They are using DCBL as a freebie debt collector costing ParkingEye ZERO
If they let DCBL take this to court, highly possible they will get spanked as they are going against the SUPREME court ruling and that could even end up in the media.

"Solicitors Reminder Letter" <<<< so what .... PE do their own dirty work when it comes to court action

All designed to scare you just like the DCBL logo .. "can't pay we'll take it away"

Just wait and do not respond to DCBL
