British Gas may23v1
Im confused. I signed up to British Gas May23 v1 and have the rates below, however the energy price cap is cheaper only on the electric. So would British Gas leave my gas as it is on the fixed and move the electric down to the cap?
May 23 v1 Tarriff
Gas
9.986p per kWh
34.069p per day*
Electric
34.312p per kWh
48.509p per day
Cap Tarriff
Gas
10.33p per kWh
28p per day
Electric
34.04p per/kWh
46p per day
thanks.

Im not sure if all companies are obliged to do it. Utility warehouse left my gas at my fixed price as it was lower and reduced my electric to the new rate as it was higher.

i'm confused by bg. i fixed jun23 and my rate has been brought lower but not to that of the new cap. their svr is also showing as higher than the cap. i paid extra for 3months to fix this 'better' rate and now they can just pocket this? initially it was publicised that elec and gas fixed rates would be reduced by 17 and 4p respectively. mine has only been brought down to above the cap. i waited in good faith when they sent an email a month ago, advising they would be in contact soon.....on telephoning their only response was that they were sorry i felt like this, yes they would email re my new tariff in 10days, and basically it was my choice to have fixed!!!0

Have you checked your electricity price for your region below.

If it is below your fix I am sure they will just discount your electricity and not touch your gas.
Either way it's best to stay on that if they dont0
