Govt grant when energy is split & paid quarterly
I’ve read through a few threads about the grant but haven’t found an answer for my mother who has gas with BG and electricity with Eon. She pays her gas quarterly by variable direct debit and her electricity by fixed monthly direct debit.
I think that when energy is split between providers it’s the gas account that gets the rebate i.e. BG, is that right? I haven’t been able to find anything about how the monthly grant gets applied to quarterly bills so if anyone here can tell me I’d appreciate it.

No, it's electricity accounts that get the £400 (because almost everyone has an electricity account but not everyone has gas).

You'll see a discount of £66 applied to your energy bills in October and November, and £67 a month from December to March 2023.Fixed Direct Debit customers will receive the money automatically as a deduction to their monthly Direct Debit.
