You simply have to do the maths, and decide is it worth your time and effort.

Look at what you have to sell, and look at what sort of prices the goods are fetching on EBay. You may find that you have quality "labels" in good condition, or complete VGC toys that are worth listing, (remember to factor in all cost including your time) whilst basic worn clothing and incomplete toys are better suited to a car boot. :)

Some toys go surprisingly well, as has already been suggested do a search on completed items to see what your things have fetched in the past.

List carefully and honestly, if something is well played with don't list it as 'like new', say whether it comes in in its original box, be honest about any parts that are missing.

WEigh it and its packing so you know how much to charge for post and packing before you list, don't guess as it is easy to get caught out and under estimate.

Clothes vary, labelled items do well as do t shirts and things with a popular cartoon or TV characters on. General clothes from Adams or even M and S tend to make very little and might do better at a car boot sale where people can see how nice they are and not have to guess from a photo.
