Combi Boiler Replacement

Looking to replace old combi boiler with new Worcester Bosch and getting quotes.  Same position.  Looking online, the new boiler costs around £1300.  Add new flue, magnetic filter and controller - not sure how much they are...

Looks like a day job but had quotes around £2500.  I feel this is a bit steep and was hoping for more like £2000 - is that too ambitious?  We are in the midlands.  Thanks.

Feels a bit steep to me.  I'm in the South East, and just paid 2500 for a new combi (similar cost boiler), but that was replacing a system boiler.  So it included the removal of a water tank, removing old piping and re-locating other piping under the floor, full system flush, TRVs for all rads, filter, new Hive thermostat and new piping across the kitchen. Maybe I just got a great deal, but I'd get a few more quotes first!
' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".

When I was looking to replace my old combi 4 years ago I got a few quotes.

A few local companies all came in between 1,600 - £2,000 all saying I needed a 24kw boiler.
A well known energy supplier quoted me £3,500 and said I needed a 30 or 31 kw boiler.

Anyhow I went  for a 24kw combi it cost £1,600. Old one taken out new one fitted over old one and a few new pipes welded to the new one.
I wasn't keen on the energy suppliers quote and their advice on a larger boiler... But then again they sell gas, and they have a been doing money out of people for years imo.

I replaced mine with a local installer, a 30kw one at a cost of £2k January 2021. Friend of mine just had his similar one replaced by British Gas for £3k.

I'm South East by the way.
