Chase withdrawal

I use my Chase  Instant access to top up my current account - sometimes several times a day  - So I'm used to near-instant transfers, but always smaller amounts (less then £1K....)

It's has now accumulated too much and I need to transfer a 'substantial' sum out to fund an ISA ..... just so I know what to expect, do larger transfers from Chase usually perform to the same timescales?

(Apologies again for the accidental duplicate thread on the ISAs board ......)

Yes, I've transferred out larger sums from Chase without any problems. Payments are pretty quick too - at least they are to my Barclays current account.

Just be aware there is a £35k per day limit.

Shouldn't be an issue since this is way more than the annual ISA limit.
  • I actually thought the limit was £25K per day? ....I might have been looking at an old link.....

Yes .. it will be under the ISA limit ..... just about to try now.

    Thanks both .....!!!

Chase support suggests it's usually £25k, but it's £35k for me when I check 'Spending limits' in the app's profile section - not sure whether this varies though.

I recently filled up and emptied out a Chase account over a 3 month period. Never had a single problem paying in or paying out. Quite impressed with them actually.

    Ah OK!

Well Bl**dy hell !! Im used to waiting maybe upto a minute for small amounts.... it was there within 5 seconds!

    Brilliant ....

    thanks again all .....

(Now to try to pay it out of Santander to the ISA.... that did trigger AML checks last time and compenation for the huge phone wait time to fix it - so on their advice will do it by phone this time.....)

It seems to vary between accounts. There was a thread here a few weeks back with reports of 2 or 3 different 'limits'. Mine is £35,000. I've done many £10,000 transactions with no problems. The first was pending for a few hours but went through unaided, the rest were only pending for a few minutes or more or less instant

    Oh dear ......

So on their advice I did it by phone .......

Queued forever to speak to first adviser ..... spent an age going through it all on the phone with him .....but he couldn't do it but would put me through to another colleague....

Another age queueing ..... Yes all OK, passed all security ..... made payment  ..... Oh, its been blocked.

I'll put you through to my colleague in security to release it for you .....

This time I timed it, queued for another 22 minutes.

Yes, I'm quite happy everything is in order - but I can't release this one over the phone, I'll pass it to the back office who will deal with it within 48 hours ........

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know we need security, but should it REALLY be THIS difficult? Are all banks the same or is Santander the worst?

    (BTW it's another complaint......)

EDIT: Because by the way they've also blocked my online banking which I didn't dsicover until just now ....... it's my main account ....... well, it was ......
  • I found Virgin similar tbh.
