Without details of your readings (estimated/actual/smart); dates and tariff then I am not sure anyone can help. Has your fixed tariff ended while you were on holiday?0

as dolor has said
are they estimated readings or do you give the readings each month (or have a smart meter). it's possible if you were on holiday you were a bit late with a reading and they estimated.
theres also a bit of a weird thing with gas because the meter units aren't the same as kwhs. 1 unit on our meter is about 32kw of gas on the bill so depending on when the numbers actually tick over there can be 32 'extra' units one month to the next (which would cost about £3.20 and could be the difference in your bill).Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?
Please consider buying some pet food and giving it to your local food bank collection or animal charity. Animals aren't to blame for the cost of living crisis.0 -
Thank you. I’m not on a smart meter for gas but I am for electricity. Maybe they had had to estimate. I don’t think my tarrif was coming to an end.
