There was continuance there and at no point was the car not insured.
I dont think that warrants 6 points for no insurance.
I can understand your ignorance of how the PNC works but it's not acceptable from the Police.0 -

Sorry I am very new to this whole process of ombudsman and all. ThanksThe courts have a big backlog at the moment. The Ombudsman may take months to hear your case. How lucky are you feeling? The court may not decide to delay the case while the Ombudsman makes a decision. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -

Why would you be in the local nick for no insurance?
Even when there were arrestable offences (before 2005 I think) no insurance wasn't one of those offences. By today's standards given the OP was reported what would the necessity be for arrest?0 -
I did say that the Police Officer was understanding but he could just as easily have viewed it as a criminal act with cloned plates.I do recall explaining to a customer that their car had been seized (or should I say Three Cars) - all because they brought it in for a recall and we could not match the VIN plate to the one stamped on the chassis. We called the Police - not the first time we had come across a dodgy motor.0

Have you made the assumption the OP hasn't sorted things with the DVLA? He obviously had or the charge would be no number plate.1 -
I've said it before but will repeat myself. on a check of the VIN, and even on checking the cherished plate, DVLA will show the original plate matching the VIN.0

I have updated dvla about the reg plate it is just the insurance provider I didn’t update.0
