Cost of living

I claim universal credit from when I was off work after having spine surgery , I don’t get any now I’m back at work but still have my account , on the assessment period for cost of living we had a payment of £7 and £12 these payments paid towards an advance that we had when the claim was going through . We was told we wasn’t eligible for the payment so I questioned it then I was told we actually was and would receive this payment in September , when it got to the end of September and hadn’t received the payment i then questioned where it was I was told to fill in the missing payment form again which I did , I then got another letter saying we are going to receive it , I then rang the office where I was told again I would receive it , then on a Sunday I received a letter in my journal saying we are not eligible and ignore all other letters , surely this isn’t right , what can I do now I get fobbed off and passed to all different people

If your claim wasn't approved and the money you received was an advance not a UC payment you might not be eligible
