LEAKING BOOTS

Can anyone help.
I have complained to the company Pavers regarding two pairs of boots I bought which let in water. They say I have to go back to the shop I bought them from (which is two separate shops ) and not them, surely the fault is with Pavers as the Boots are not fit for purpose. Are they right.

They are right, your consumer rights are with the retailer only.3

Are they wellington boots? Do they claim to be waterproof?0

There like hiking boots.0

Sounds like they are telling you to take a hike.

The manufacturer is correct. You bought from a retailer, your consumer rights rest with the retailer. You have no contractual relationship with the manufacturer, unless they came with some sort of manufacturer warranty.0

Like hiking boots are not actually hiking boots. Proper hiking boots are waterproof and expensive. Does the manufacture claim the as are waterproof or water resistant? Even with waterproof boots other precautions are required to keep your feet dry. If you don’t also wear gaiters water will just run down your leg soak into your socks and into your boots.cm1953_fullstop said:There like hiking boots.

Unless they are described as waterproof you have no grounds for complaint. Looking like hiking boots, or even being hiking boots, doesn't automatically mean they are waterproof.

I have recently had the same problem. First boots leaked so replaced once I showed proof of purchase. Second boots leak in the same place but I have thrown away the receipt so can't do anything about it. A shame as so comfy and lovely otherwise. The leak is through the soul so it is a fault. I will buy again but will definitely keep the receipt. I think email receipts will be safest for the future.0

If they leak through the sole, where abouts is the leak? Could you use some shoe goo to fix it?katymews said:I have recently had the same problem.
