HomeCare/HomeServe vs Home Emergency Cover

Hi,

My home insurance is up for renewal and I'm debating what to do regarding home emergency cover.

At the moment I also have British Gas HomeCare (top level of cover, including Annual Boiler Service and cover for: Boiler and controls, Central heating, Plumbing, Drains and Home electrics).

I got a good cashback deal and also referred a friend after I took out the policy, so I ended up not paying much for it at all.

I'm trying to work out what the difference is between a policy from HomeCare/HomeServe and just adding Home Emergency cover onto my home insurance policy (apart from the annual boiler service not being included with Home Emergency of course).

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Thanks :-)

As an easy comparison Aviva/Quotemehappy use homeserve for their home emergency cover. Main things it doesnt cover is the water pipe between meter and internal stopcock, taps and boiler service. I took out the home emergency cover with quotemehappy then took our a separate policy direct with homeserve for the water pipe and boiler service.

You need to check exactly what the home insurer covers you for against the British Gas or Homeserve policy
