This autumn, be transported to a long-forgotten realm of spirits, sprites, and natural wonder. Based on Studio Ghibli’s celebrated 1988 animated feature film, original composer and Executive Producer Joe Hisaishi and the Royal Shakespeare Company (Matilda The Musical) bring the global stage premiere of My Neighbour Totoro to London’s Barbican, in collaboration with Improbable and Nippon TV.
This landmark new adaptation, written by Tom Morton-Smith (Oppenheimer) explores the magical fantasy world of childhood and the transformative power of imagination, as it follows one extraordinary summer in the lives of sisters Satsuki and Mei.
My Neighbour Totoro will play a strictly limited 15-week season, previewing from 8 October and promises to delight all generations.
