Hey since OCT I have given fit notes to UC. I was given a LONG fourm to fill in December, Its taken 10 months to get a call from WCA people and I was delcared LCWRA which is an extra £350 ish a month.
Will I be backdated if so when from and how much will I get, and how long does it take for UC to sort this out. I have asked in my journal but been blanked.
Thank you

It's from the 4th full month after you started handing in fit notes. So if you reported your health condition partway through an assessment period, that won't count, it's the 4th one after that.0

Torry_Quine said:It will be backdated to week 13of your claimOP based in the limited information you’ve given it will either be from either Feb or March.Without knowing what date exactly you sent your first fit note and what date you usually receive your money each month it’s impossible to tell you when exactly.0

The waiting period, officially referred to as "the relevant period" is 3 months from your declaration of illness and provision of fit notes and you get paid LCWRA element from the start of the AP which comes after the waiting period ends. - UC regs 2013 Reg 28(1) & (2).
If you declared an illness on your application and gave fit notes from the start of the claim, then you are paid from the start of the 4th AP i.e. you have waited exactly 3 months.
If you declare your illness and provide fit notes on the first day of any subsequent AP then you "wait" for 3 months and are then paid form the start of the AP which follows, again, you have waited exactly 3 months.
If you declare your illness and provide fit notes on day2 of any AP, then you wait 3 months, but you are not paid until the start of the AP which follows the 3 months.... This can mean waiting for 3 months and 30 days or 3 months and 29 days or 3 months and 27 days depending what calendar month you declared in.
If you declare in the middle of any AP your waiting period is accordingly reduced, to be 3 months plus however many days.
OP, you may get a more precise date from this forum:
If you tell us what date your UC started and whether you declared the illness affects your ability to work on your application form.
If not, what date you first reported your illness affects your ability to work.
What date you supplied the first fit note.
What date the first fit note was valid from.
And if your fit notes since the first fit note have been continuous and if there have been any gaps in your fit notes.
It gets more complicated if you were working when first reporting your illness or if you have worked between then and now.

It really is semantics but one of us is actually correct.0 -
My apologies for giving what was apparently inaccurate information.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

Interesting. According to the regulations, the relevant (waiting) period is indeed 3 months, then it becomes payable from the beginning of the assessment period that follows the assessment period in which the relevant period ends. So no reference to having to wait 3 months and X days either.
Waiting period → LCWRA payable from next AP.
So in practice, since APs are also months, the advice we give about 'the fourth full AP' does the job2
