I've got a savings account with charter paying 1.75% from memory. I had an email from them post BOE announcement but have heard no more about the rate going up. Meanwhile they are offering 2.25% on a new easy access account which I can open online when logged in. Is it worth me opening this account or are they likely to upgrade the interest rate on my current easy access account with them?
Cheers

IME, in the past, they haven't increased existing rates, so I have previously opened new accounts, then transferred everything from the old ones, which closes them and includes any outstanding interest.oz0707 said:I've got a savings account with charter paying 1.75% from memory. I opened the new one and did an immediate internal transfer from my Issue 27 to Issue 28. Old account closed down and interest to date credited to new a/c. Takes a while for the new account to show before you can act.1

Annoyingly, I have an 'Easy Access Saver Issue 20', which is effectively the same as the 'Easy Access Issue 27', except that it has a min. of 1k rather than 5k, so I have been holding out to see if they are going to increase the rate on it, but, so far, nothing from them (other than the original email acknowledging the base rate rise).

Is something up with Charter atm?
I've gone to sort this out today and only get the option to open cash ISA no other savings product.0 -
They withdraw their products quite often so usually need to get in there quick if you want something they're offering. They withdrew the 2.25% easy access a while ago.oz0707 said:Is something up with Charter atm?
