Octopus Energy October change of tariff notification - can this be right?
I have just looked up my new rates on my tariff from Octopus. I was with AVRO on a flexible rate - which I have kept because it was cheaper. On October 1st they are quoting me costs per kWh double what I paid in September. Can this be right? Doesn't the cap mean a limited increase of up to 27%.
For your information:
Electricity: Sept 27.84p/kWh New rate 52.91p/kWh.
For your information:
Electricity: Sept 27.84p/kWh New rate 52.91p/kWh.
Gas: Sept 6.99p/kWh - New rate 14.74p/kWh.
Standing charges have gone down by 1-2p per day.
Thanks for your help.

Apart from the bits above, which I hope make sense to you, there is no such thing as a 27% increase that actually applies directly to anyone. Ignore that number entirely.0
