SO Energy
Options
I have just received this from SO Energy and I’m baffled as to what they’re actually telling me (and if it’s correct)..
From 1 October, the Government’s Energy Price Guarantee comes into effect, offering eligible fixed-rate tariff customers a discount on their unit rates. Your fixed tariff’s unit rates are already cheaper than the Energy Price Guarantee and therefore the discount does not apply to your tariff. |

I would have thought that was fairly plain?
You are obviously on a fixed rate tariff currently & one at which the unit rates are lower than the Energy Price Guarantee rates (~34p/kWh for electricty & 10.4p/kWh for gas). As such the rates you are paying will remain unaltered (until your current fix ends).0 -
Thank you Buff - if it was ‘fairly plain’ I wouldn’t have needed to ask.0

Well as you have now found out (I hope) - they were telling you that your tariff wouldn't change and they were correct to do so.0

What the supplier is telling you is that the tariff that you are on is cheaper than the Ofgem Capped Tariff minus the EPG adjustment. What are your tariff rates?0
