Does anyone know what the price cap is for electric, I had an email 3 days ago saying my electric is going from 34p per kWh to 44p just signed into my account and it now says 62p per kWh

I'm with Eon Next and they seem to be in a complete mess. I've heard nothing at all from them.  However I have read on here somewhere that the emails are correct and the website is wrong.
I have to say I would not like to be working in their customer service centre right now.  Implementing all these changes in such a short time must be a night mare. But effectively we didn't have a government for over 2 months this summer!

Yes, very helpful, congratulations.  You do realise that the 62p was exactly what you would have been paying if the PM hadn't put the new cap on?

The email was correct.  The online system isn't yet updated.

They can't cut you off just like that, even if you did ask (which would be a really bizarre thing to do).

62p/kWh is what is was going to be under the October Ofgem cap. Those prices were announced weeks ago and will never be charged as the gpvernment has replaced all that with their Energy Price Guarantee.

Not being funny but when my account is showing 62p what am I supposed to think, when I discussed it a couple of weeks ago my account wasn’t showing 62p the eon rep told me 62p then said she had received an email and would be in touch, it was a bit of a shock as it definitely wasn’t showing 62p yesterday, I guess I will talk to them tomorrow

I am with E.ON Next with the E.ON Next Online V15 tariff since 2 July. I have not received any e-mail notification about changes to unit rates of standing charges on this tariff, and I received my usual electricity bill yesterday showing nothing unusual and the tariff information:

Prices do not include VAT unless otherwise noted.

Tariff Name Next Online v15

Product Type Fixed

Payment Method Direct Debit

Unit Rate 40.306p/kWh

Standing Charge 40.230p/day (£146.84/year)

Price Guaranteed Until 2nd July 2023.

I take this to be a deafening silence.

Well your electricity bill yesterday obviously doesn't include the changes that apply tomorrow.

E.ON's website is very clear.  Your fixed electricity tariff will be reduced by up to 17p but will not go below the cap for your region.  Your standing charge will be unchanged.

Not being funny but you probably shouldn't be thinking that an energy supplier, at a period when the industry is under great scrutiny, is just going to decide to overcharge you and break the cap in an obviously public way?

My old fix ends in a couple of days and they've got me down as paying what looks like the April '22 pricing. I'm sure they'll correct it.
