British Gas Smartmeter already showing new charges since last few weeks
Hi - is it normal that for about the last 2-3 weeks, my British Gas smartmeter reporting box was showing my energny prices at the new October capped rates?
It looks like the BG website is reporing slightly lower costs for my daily usage so maybe the website itself is correct but should I investigate further?
for example on 28th September my smartmeter reported £11.27 spending for Electric and Gas, whilst the website reports £10.79.
Hopefully the website is using the correct September pricing.
Just to be clear here - I actually went through all the menus on the smartmeter reporting box and it is reporting the new October KWH prices already since at least last weekend.

What you see on your display is not what you are actually billed.
I'm not surprised that it has been showing unusual numbers, many of the websites have too.
If you worry, check your bill after you get it, there you will see exactly what prices they have used.1 -
Thanks - actually it was a long week and I realised this morning that it is the other way around so actually worse. It’s their website that has already been using the higher amounts in September and the little smart box the old numbers so it’s the other way around.
