I buy this from my local Sainsbury's, it's usually shelved with the washing powders and fabric conditioners.littlemoney said:London_1 said:I use a couple of heaped tablespoons of bicarbonate of soda and pour ordinary white vinegar over it and let it fizz for a few minutes then a kettle of boiling water. That usually gets the plughole and drainage pipes clear of any grease that may have accumulated
JackieO xxWhere do you get your bicarbonate of soda from? I can only get it in a small amount from the baking section in the supermarket.
For those who might find it useful there is a great selection of tips on their website here cleaning tips, cleaning tasks, cleaning products | Dri-Pak. The laundry selection is particularly good.

Finally purchased a 500g bicarbonate of soda nnd white vinegar. Used as suggested here, plus used a plunger which I had already got.The flow is much improved but I have a leak under the sink. I think the plunger loosend the connection between the sink and pipe. Probably been leaking very slowly for sometime as there is a layer of, I assume, limescale which I must has distubed with the force of the plunger. Now I have a bigger problem and wish I had never started.
Will have to ask another question how I can solve this without taking anything apart.1 -

Will have to ask another question how I can solve this without taking anything apart. It's crawl under the sink time, head first, rubber gloves on and tighten, by hand, the large usually knurled joints on the U bendDon't use grips or anything like that, or you may apply too much force & strip the threadNo doubt YouTube has some videos, try U bend leak as a starter

I can't see anything to tighten there.0 -
