Which raises a whole new question: why the heck are brokers’ rates worse than the direct to consumer rates?

i know the answer: because it’s a con. You apply for the better direct rate and 7 months later when you get your telcon with the mortgage advisor they’ve gone up by 6%

@thriftypatos If you're referring to intermediary rates, you can see the latest updates here. I don't see any very recent changes and haven't got any notification from NatWest either.

Thanks so much. Got an appointment to apply at 11am Monday. What are the chances these will change before then?!

@thriftypatos Very low imho, though I would not expect the current rates (which have only Halifax purchase products for competition) to last more than a few days.

@thriftypatos Looks like it's come sooner than I expected! Hopefully whatever product it is that you're looking at isn't going up by too much.
