Anyone know of cheap public liaibility insurance for builders? Ideally covering us for Europe or at least france too.

Hi - try Decision Finance and if want cover for France etc give them details of what's involved.Otherwise the cover is likely to be UK only.0

Most policy wordings would allow for work in the EU, however, the intention to work there should be disclosed at quotation stage. A minimal amount of work (not involving the use of non UK employees) should not be a problem. I would advise getting a couple of quotes from local brokers and then approaching your bank (who sometimes have facilities for Business Insurance which may beat your best quote)0
