Sainsburys Energy still showing high prices NOT price guarantee?

I fixed with Sainsburys energy before the price guarantee was announced and my contract started today. However, they are still showing the fix rates, not the price guarentee rates? The payments they are requesting from me also reflect the fixed rate rather than the price guarentee so they are asking me to pay significantly more than I should be?

What should I do?

The rates they are showing for my account are electric: 52.12p/kWh 48.53p/day and gas at 13.26p/kWh 27.22p/day.

Should I be worried? Should I ring them and ask them to chance me to the price guarantee? I've had zero communication from them regarding the price guarantee so don't know what I should be doing.

Price guarantee doesn't start until tomorrow so for today you will be paying the new fixed prices you agreed to.

From tomorrow the prices should be adjusted to EPG prices.

"The prices shown here don’t yet include the government’s Energy Price Guarantee (EPG) unit rate reduction – we’re working on getting these changed as fast as we can. But don’t worry, you won’t be charged these prices - you’ll get the reduced EPG prices on your bill."
    So you have 2 options:
    Stay on your current tariff,
Change to the SVT (you can do this online, no need to phone them)

Will both options be the same price (the EPG?) tomorrow? Or will one be cheaper than the other?

That depends on what your current tariff rates are.

Are those a set of fixed rates you signed up to previously, or are they entirely new to you?

These are the rates I switched to (before the price freeze but the contract only started today). I can exit penalty free if switching to the price cap

  • You'll pay different rates from tomorrow, 17p/kWh cheaper than your numbers for electric and the EPG rate for gas.

The payments they are requesting are not how much you are spending on energy.  They are a guess at how much you will spend in a year split into equal payments.  If the prices go down (like when the cap applies tomorrow), or you use less, then you will have credit in your account either to reduce the payments or to refund to you.

Everyone knows what they are doing for the standard variable, and what they are almost certainly doing for fixes.

The only thing we don't know is the E7 day/night balance I think.

Don't expect the online numbers to suddenly change tomorrow.

I expect tomorrow the numbers will be the same, but a few weeks later they might change. One things for sure, you will not be billed for the amounts currently specified on your dashboard as that's already been confirmed.
