Grants for electric beds

I received my assessment from adult social care & just last week my mobility aids were delivered to me of which I’m grateful for.
I asked my Occupational Therapist if I could be considered for an electric bed. She agreed with me that this would really benefit me but unfortunately my mobility aid grant wouldn’t cover it
With having a chronic disease it’s put me on a slippery slope having increased pain caused by trying to get comfortable, I’m having to sit up each time & turn my body around just to turn over In bed,
I have researched everywhere on the internet for a grant that covers electric beds. Am I to believe that the only people that can purchase a bed l is if they have savings to pay between £1500 to £7999.00 for one.
Why aren’t grants coving an item that would totally benefit someone like myself who has osteoarthritis in both knees and lower back

I don't know much about these grants, but I don't see how they can be expected to cover everything which might be of benefit to any disabled person, with any condition. DLA / PIP are given to cover at least some of the additional costs of being disabled, so I guess the expectation would be that you would put that towards additional equipment needed - and I do realise that you may not be in a position to do so.
However, have you worked through this section? https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/family/grants-low-income/
are you a Trade Union member? Some of them have benevolent funds to help members with this kind of expense. Or did you work in a profession which might have similar?
My final point would be that you need to be sure you get the 'right' bed. It's a lot of money to spend and then find it doesn't do what you need it to do.Signature removed for peace of mind1 -

Have you checked Ebay or FB Marketplace for second hand beds, you could probably save yourself a small fortune.

You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
If you speak to your health professionals you should be able to get an electric profile bed free of charge.
It is lent to you by the local authority.

That’s if it’s an identified nursing need though and it’s not clear whether the OP falls into that bracket. The OT would appear to think not, otherwise it would probably already have been suggested. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Hello,
Have you tried the Bruce Wake Trust? https://brucewaketrust.co.uk/
I recently got a grant towards an electric bike from them. They were very easy to deal with.0 -
If it's still relevant, I recommend scouring https://www.disability-grants.org/0
