QDR solicitors letter - do I have a winning case?

I got a letter from QDR solicitors on behalf of ZZPS Limited, claiming to pay PCN for exceeding the maximum period permitted in a retail park.

I went shopping and without being aware, I spent 3 hours and a half shopping in multiple stores in a retail park. I got a PCN with a charge.
I find this absurd, If you are spending more time shopping, so putting more money in the retailers' pockets, you get punished.

Anyway, based on what I've seen in this forum, QDR might go further to the CCJ.

In my defense, the sign displayed in the retail park is misleading (see it below).
Do you think I have a case in court? I could pay the amount to avoid any headaches but I would not want to give them satisfaction in a matter I consider is not right.

Thank you!

    Yes, the sign is ambiguous.

You can always ignore debt demand letters for a private PCN as seen in the 4th post of the NEWBIES thread.

Come back here if you get a LBC or court claim. Some never sue. Who is the parking firm?

Re-read the first post of the NEWBIES thread because PLAN A will see this cancelled - very easy.

Also check the postal address registered on your car logbook, if the QDR letters are the first you knew of this PCN.  That's almost always the fault of the keeper for not changing the address of the car V5C.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Hi all
I'm back, as I've received a court claim recently.

I've spent a couple of good hours reading the new NEWBIES!! PRIVATE PARKING TICKET section and the forum and I haven't found a suitable template for my defense
I've got the claim form, dated 16th June and I submitted the AOS on 21st June. The claim is for £183 + £35 court fee and £50 legal costs. The initial charge was £85.

In short, I've parked in a commercial park for some shopping and exceeded the 3 hours time by 20 min.

I want to build my defense based on the fact that the sign displayed at the entrance of the commercial park is misleading. Because the text line with the time interval is written in bold letters, my understanding applies to both situations, 3 hours max stay and registered users.

Please advise with a suitable template/defense for my case.

    Thank you,
    G

UKPC is the parking firm, and they are represented by DCBL

With a Claim Issue Date of 16th June, and having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Wednesday 19th July 2023 to file your Defence.

That's over two weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.
To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look at the second post in the NEWBIES thread.
Don't miss the deadline for filing a Defence.

Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.

That sign is nonsense I read it that you are restricted to 3 hours between 10.30PM and 6 AM which infers there is no time limit between 6.30AM and 10.30PM.
Others may read it differently because it is just daft.

Just noticed that in the Claim, the claimant says I agreed to pay within 28 days but I did not. That is false information.
