Morning all
Dry and bright here for now but rain due later, we lit the log burner last night and it was so warm and cosy, OH has a load of off-cuts from work so free heat which is always nice.
Day off today and dd is off too so we will get the dogs out for a walk this mornng before the rain comes.
Im taking mum for a hospital appointment this afternoon just a routine one so nothing to worry about, Nephew left yesterday after being with mum for a week, mum drove him home which is a long way and she got herself into a bit of a state on the way back, her shoe came off and wedged under the pedals, she had to drive for a while until she could pull over and get it out, she said last night that she doesnt think she can drive very far now, Ive told her to just drive locally to the next village, but I dont think it will be long before she gives it up, the boys mother is very selfish and could have come and got him but she only thinks of herself ! At least he has gone now - for now
Not sure about dinner tonight will go and look in the freezer after this, dd has stripped her bed this morning and got the bedding in the wm
TA thinking of you today xxxx
Nels hope everything is going according to plan xx
Have good days all xxx8 -
Morning all
Thanks for all the thoughts everyone. At the moment its a case of no news is good news. My solicitor has crawled back into her no communication cave so I will have to go with Tuesday still being the day but naturally with all the news coverage its all very stressful. I really feel for anyone with a mortgage atm with all the predictions of interest rises.
Im trying to use the time to get some stuff Ive been putting off done in my house. About a year ago here there was a big storm and my gas meter box door managed to be wrecked and its taken the whole year to find someone who could repair it. Anyway finally I have a guy coming round on Weds (in theory) so I will be be able to read my meter at last. I don't have the best record of local tradesmen turning up so its another fingers crossed for that one. Also booked a boiler service but I know him so assuming that will happen!
Today aiming for some more sorting but not much else
Rubes so glad nephew has gone. Hope it stays that way
TA. Tough day ...sending you virtual hugs x
Apparently we are due some of the tail end of the Florida hurricane but nothing yet
Have good day all

Morning everyone
I'm not at work today as I have a health assessment phone call to do with Universal Credit anytime from 9am till 1pm. Little one's daddy picked her up just before 9 - he'll take her back to DDs this afternoon. She's just got home and is freezing! She's going to go shopping and get sorted before she gets little one back.
It's raining and very windy here today. I've had the heating timer set to come on the last few mornings, but it hasn't been switching back off - I'll have to have a look at it today. I might just leave it to come on if the temperature is below 16, then I can adjust it as needed. It was actually really warm yesterday afternoon - I sat out in the garden with little one for a bit after tea. We did her homework from nursery - she had to tick off sounds she could hear in the garden - she kept asking me to write extra things she could hear that weren't on the list....like the dinosaur she could hear in the field!
Had my phone call - it lasted almost an hour! Very nice lady - she said it will be about a month before I hear anything.
Sorry I can't remember what anyone said now....so I'll wish you all a good day x

Thinking of you @TravellingAbuela xx
We are en route back home having left Lockerbie on a bus bound for Gretna Green at lunchtime. Took a train from GG to Carlisle and managed to get a severely delayed train to London. This all due to the severe weather of 50mph winds and rain of biblical proportions. Glad we made the decision to not walk today and come home early!
Looking forward to my own bed tonight!Cross-stitch WIP: HSC Jingle Bells Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 09/25 Currently reading The Vows of Silence by Susan Hill6 -

Looking forward to my own bed tonight!Hope that you make it OK. Trains between Carlisle and Glasgow are curtailed or cancelled.I made it home safely, the weather was much worse in Glasgow than it is here. I took a taxi to my car as the rain was just tipping down. Found that my car was not only unlocked but that the back passenger door wasn't closed properly - I have been very lucky there!DP1 - once again your little one has made me laugh, she's a wee smartie indeed.

Evening all,
Rain and wind here this morning, eased off later although it was cold enough all day.
Knee has been quite sore today, think that crutches are easier to use than
frame, made it from the road to house to pay respects to neighbour who died, he had a stroke during an operation nine years ago and never recovered.
Nothing to report, just starting to watch Ulster/Leinster rugby.
Stay safe and well everybody.
