Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Dark, wet and cold, rain forecast for the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was fridge clear up - ham, boiled egg, pork pie (menfolk), salad, saute new potatoes and salad. Tonight not sure what we'll be having.
All the normal chores to do today.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC, enjoy your days off.Yesterday wasn't a bad day, though we had some very heavy showers. The forecast doesn't seem good for today, I won't be going far though.I survived the kitchen painting yesterday, Dh did more than me. The cupboards are to clean out now, and we'll have to choose some new flooring. The stairs need doing as well, and Dh thinks we are going to do that at some point. I don't know, it's high, and we're old!!The thing is, we've always done our own decorating, and the thought of paying someone else to do it makes Dh need a lie down, but there comes a time, and I think it's nearly here. Ds would help, he's 6' 4" which would be a great help on the high bits, and he's offered in the past, but Dh doesn't want to ask him, he says Ds has enough to do in his own house.Though getting a decorator might be difficult, from what I hear from friends getting any tradesman is difficult. We'll see.TA sorry to read that your hot brush gave you a fright !We had our hair done yesterday, I wish I could do my hair like the hairdresser does.Rosy you're right about freezer tidying, I'm always doing it, and on here people often say they are going to tidy their freezer. I'm always sorting through my clothes as well, and moving them into different places, so I often don't know where I've put things. As long as I don't get confused and put them in the freezer!Snoozer, hope Nathan will be better soon, and Crystal. It's a worry when tiny babies are ill.Ruby your new job sounds much better than your last one, you seem to be enjoying it.Hope you are all right Nels,Friday again, and I hope everyone has a good one - take care folks12

Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc, I love a fridge use up!
Wet and windy this morning, so different from the last few weeks. It's so dark in the mornings now, makes me want to stay in bed!
We have a clothes swap at school this afternoon along with a MacMillan afternoon tea, it's going to be a very busy day. Hopefully we will be able to rehome lots of returned uniform and parents have been very generous in donating outgrown children's clothes. Any surplus will be taken to the charity shop next week.
Hope you are all well and have a happy Friday. Take care. XX11 -
Morning folks.Yesterday I went back to JL to do more looking at small furniture. After a bit of mooching I plumped on two side tables, one for by my chair downstairs and the other for upstairs. It's not what I went for but it's a start. I've decided against an upstairs sofa though not sure on anything else.Today I'm having a couple of benign mole-like things removed then doing some food shopping before heading home. The weather forecast is dreadful, we're due the ferocious tail end of the hurricane which is lashing Florida. Driving will be slower than usual but I'll be fine in the car.No breakfast this morning as I had a chippie tea last night 😎 and I still feel full'ish. I hope that everyone is safe and warm. Happy Friday to all.11

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. It's a beautiful start here with a glorious sunrise but sadly the rain is due to arrive late morning and batter us for most of the day. Oh well it's only Friday Tidy day so it can do what it wants out there.
If life had treated us kindly we would have been celebrating our Golden Wedding today. DD sent me a lovely verse which had me in tears but then cheered me up by saying the girls wanted to stay with me tonight to keep me company if that was ok. Of course it is but I will have to abandon them for a while tomorrow morning as I have my Covid booster. Bad timing!
BFF is due home today after her holiday. I have had numerous messages and photos WhatsApped and she sounds to have had a lovely relaxing time after an arduous summer of chemo. She deserves it.
Have a lovely day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly babies or worried. NELS I hope you haven't had bad news about the house sale going through. A worrying time for you. We seem to have a few MIA just now, I hope all is ok with them. Take care one and all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
We had a MacMillan coffee morning in our village hall a couple of days ago. I was amazed at the generosity of so many people. Lots of homemade cakes donated as well as cash donations.
made a macaroni cheese yesterday loads left over so no need to cook today. Ought to do freezer tidy if I have the energy as delivery shop is booked for tomorrow.9 -
Morning all chilly as usual I am off for my covid booster hope i am making the right decision a week before we go away but i want it done i may even have the flu jab this year i dont usually but they say we have a perfect storm for flu this year and the vaccines seem to be the right ones I know they choose them a year in advance so it can be hit or miss I may delay that till after holiday though. Windscreen was done yesterday and i did some xmas shopping whilst i waited Dinner tonight Lasagne and garlic bread
Snoozer I hope Nathan and Crystal are feeling a bit better its a worry with a tiny one
Nels Thinking of you
Scarlett DH does the smaller rooms but the large rooms we will be getting someone in it just takes too long and DH doesn't enjoy it and we are getting older and slower I think you just reach a point where its easier to let someone else take the strain
Right better get a shifty on and get dressed . Happy Friday stay warm and safe xxSlava Ukraini12 -

Morning all. It's misty here this morning so I hope it clears soon.
Yesterday was a busy day spent shopping with DD. It was useful as she got most things on her list and had lots of good advice in JL regarding frying pans and non stick things in general. I've always found our branch in MK to be so helpful and will go there first. Big failure though, in that I completely forgot to look for a new kettle, so will have to do that over the weekend.
Today we've planned to go for a geocaching walk in a village about 30 mins from us. Should be about 3 miles and there's a pub en route. Rain is forecast for later this afternoon but we will be back by then.
Happy Friday everyone!7 -
Hello all, it's the calm before the storm here too. I was shattered yesterday and went to bed early, would have liked a lie in this morning but no chance with some banging coming from next door.
Today I have a list of tasks to work through and then a freezer tidy, as when looking for the apple pie I turned everything upside down (as usual it was hiding at the bottom) I have a sm delivery coming tomorrow morning as the chest freezer is only half full, so it has to be done before I get twitchy. I couldn't believe the price rises when I ordered, it must be very scary to those already struggling.
Mr fix It has just ordered a new radiator, so we have to collect from the city this afternoon and then call in Band Q for a flush for Dad's toilet on the way home, so that's my day disrupted again 🤨 I'm destined not to get the van stuff sorted and put away this week.
Take care, hugs and healing vibes to all including the poorly family members and DGC.
