Pet Carriers: a false economy?
Comments
-
We have a fold away plastic one that we use for our parrot. It folds down nice and flat for easy storage, think it was reasonably expensive though.
We also have a cheap argos cat carrier for the cat. This has an opening at the top and on the front, which is something that comes in handy. Is also something I could like to look into investing in for the parrot.Green and White Barmy Army!0 -
My son had a cardboard cat carrier and bundled both of his cats into it to go to the vet's for their de-fleaing.
Yhe vet took pity on them and gave him a solid carrier!
I agree, the cardboard ones are OK for emergencies and calm cats, but the solid ones are much better long-term.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
I am a vet so I see all sorts of cat baskets. The best ones are top opening, easiest to get cats in and out. If you get a front opening one, make sure it has a metal door (or at least plastic covered metal). The all plastic doors of the cheapest baskets are a false economy as they break very easily, requiring cable ties or similar to fix. We use white wire carriers at the surgery, about £25 to £30 but ours get some abuse and last for years.0
