Is it worth still submitting readings on 30/09/22 when I have a smart meter?

Yesterday I received an email from EDF which basically told me not to submit readings for my gas or electricity on 30 September as I have a smart meter and they will take a reading:

You’ve probably seen the recent announcement of the Government Energy Price Guarantee coming into effect on 1 October – as you have a smart meter** there’s no need for you to provide a meter reading. Your smart meter is doing this for you automatically.

I intend to take a reading for both anyway late tomorrow (30/09) evening and keep the readings to check against any future bill. I assume EDF just don't want people clogging up the system by submitting unnecessary readings but what's the odds they will do a reading either tomorrow or 01/10? It's the first time I've been affected by the price cap, having been on fixed tarrifs for a number of years prior to June this year. I would always submit readings when my tarrif came to an end. I remember reading stories of utility websites crashing when the last price cap increase happened.
To anyone else on a smart meter (with EDF or otherwise), will you still be submitting readings tomorrow or Saturday?

Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

I've done mine today while the system is still working.

My Octopus gas has been saying uh-oh for a few days, so I know they aren't getting accurate readings at the moment and although it will sort itself out eventually it gives me peace of mind.

Photograph your meters with the readings showing if you can, just for your records. EDF should get the readings they need anyway, it depends what day they take the smart readings, they might just estimate between the last reading they got and the change date.
My supplier gets a smart meter reading only on the 20th of each month, even though data is sent out every 30 minutes. I'm on a fix and won't see a change on October 1st, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if websites crash under the load of people trying to input readings, just like they did last April.
