How to turn on central heating in one room only

Ah, I do think there's a bit you've not considered; unless you turn off all the other TRVs every night, you'll heat up the entire house. The logic is opposite of what you're thinking - you want a smart TRV in all the other rooms, so that when the heating comes on an hour early, those radiators get closed off, and the living room alone heats up.1

And all the unused rooms will already be off. The boiler turns off when folk retire, and then back on, say, an hour before wakey-wakey. The bedrooms - and the living room - therefore come on. Folk get up to warmish bedrooms, and a warmish living room. Everyone happy. All the bedroom rads should then be shut off before being vacated, so they do not come on again until an hour before next bedtime. Ditto the living room until required. It's leg-work, or Smart-work.
