Just set up a chase account and seen they are not part of the current account switch service.
Has anyone scored any join bonus without the switching service or should I just shut it?
I know Santander you can but have seen there offer has ended!
Thanks

ThanksMost offers require a "full switch" to be eligible, I don't know any where you can get cashback by just opening an account.Chase do have a fairly decent 1% cashback debit card though along with 5% interest on roundups, so it's worth having personally (plus you can't go overdrawn).0 -
Agree, the 1% Chase cashback is nice. But the 5% roundup thing is a complete gimmick, just there to make people think they can get a relatively massive interest rate, when in actual fact most people would not even earn a fiver over an entire year.Astria said:creditmanessex said:Just set up a chase account and seen they are not part of the current account switch service.

I would keep the Chase account in any case, as they might be joining CASS at some stage, and it's then useful to have an account to switch. And it's a good idea to have more than one current account, too.1 -
Santander required you to use the switching service in order to get the bonus, just like every other bank. No switch = no bonus.creditmanessex said:

First direct offer you £20 to open an account.EarthBoy said:

https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/compare-best-bank-accounts/How to get the £20 bonus:
Open an account and use mobile or online banking within three months. The £20 is then paid within the first four months. How to get the £175 bonus:
Open an account then, within three months, complete a switch from another current account (can't be HSBC or First Direct) and pay in £1,000+. The £175 is then paid within 28 days. You can request the switch online or by phone.I got the £20 unexpectedly when I opened an account, as I'd received a switching bonus from them before.

I have a chase bank account and I'm finding it very difficult to move cash from the savings part, to even the current part Once its in there its the devils own job to move it again.I have an Iphone, that the account is on and wanted to move a small amount to the daily current acount bit but just can't seem to be able to do it ? perhaps its me as I'm not very techy0

I have an Android phone, but I find it easy enough. There's a button at the bottom that says 'Payments'. Press that, then press 'Your Accounts' if you want to move money between your Chase accounts. Or choose a payee on the bottom half of the screen if you want to move money to an external account.
For day to day spending, I always use Chase due to the 1% cashback. Whether I'll keep the account when that offer ends, I'm not sure. I might keep it because they plan to launch other products, which could be competitive.
I wonder if anyone actually uses Chase as their main bank account, with their salary paid in and direct debits paid out? Or if most people are like me - they basically use it as a pre-funded credit card for the cashback, and top it up from another account as the balance runs low?1 -
Thank you for the help, I found I have to move it to the small day -to-day account, then to my main Lloyds account. I keep the small one for the odd coffee or small amount
Cheers

I transfer directly out from my Chase Savings Account to external accounts quite regularly.2
