Hi everyone,,,
I want to buy a Desktop PC that can be used for internet browsing, downloading and some research (simulation-programming) work that require a big memory.
I came across this offer (http://www.pcwb.com/catalogue/item/WB100569) from pcworld buisness which seems good enough taking into account the £50 cashback offered by HP. My only concern is about the MT ATHLON 64 X2 5000+ processor, which I have no idea about since my past experience was with Intel processors.
I'd really appreciate your comments on this particular product.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I have no idea how stressful simulation programming is (or what is involved) but it sounds as if a C2D may be more suitable.
The PC you have seen is an absolute steal for that price (£50 cashback from HP and 5% discount through quidco (microwarehouse)) it can be picked up for around £176.
It does have a PCI-e 16 slot so a graphics card (I consider) is a must to get the best out of it.
The 250W PSU is less than ideal but no-one has mentioned it being an issue.
Some benchmark results I found are here (may be worth downloading passmark and comparing to your existing set up):PassMark(TM) PerformanceTest 6.1 (http://www.passmark.com)
