"So clearly they didn't want me back"

Just don't fall into the trap of overinterpreting stuff like this (easier said than done and a great culprit myself) - you might just genuinely have a colleague who is so wrapped up in their own world and issues and life etc that they give the overall impression of not wanting you there, when really it's just sheer indifference which whilst not particularly friendly is also not malicious.

If your lunch in the canteen fridge was getting sticky labels on it randomly saying things like 'couldnt you stay away' then obviously it's a bit different

Still think it's time to find something better as the whole culture comes across as rubbish - that won't improve.

Yes I appreciate the possibility of overinterpretation. In any of these situations I always try and see the likelihood of the other angle. How likely another angle is vs how I am feeling.

In the case of the person who was going to blank me & then grunted at me, to give a more complete picture, as the week would pan out they would be talking to (what was) my team and when I'd turn up they'd scarper instantly. Once or twice coincidental but always? Suspicious.
After it kept happening, I said to my co-workers do I need to change my deoderant or something. Every time I turn up, that person scarpers.
Which is when one of them told me that they were getting a bit annoyed that this person was constantly asking about me. We'd just had an episode of damage that morning & this individual was fishing - asking what I'd done (it wasn't even me - was someone else) in a hopeful manner. When they were told it wasn't me it was someone else, they were just like "oh" in a disappointed manner.
Allegedly anyway, but I've no reason to doubt the person telling me. If I had to put money on whether I was being told the truth or whether I was being wound up, it's much more likely I was being told the truth.

Sad that after so many years service this is how it's turned out. Frustrating thing is it wasn't even my fault I was off sick for so long injured. It was a third party that caused it.
