EDF price cap guarantee Gas is 20p/kwh????
I got an email from EDF saying I was going to be charged 10.3p/kwh for gas and this was shown online in my account until today when suddenly the tariff showing has DOUBLED and they now state in my account that they are going to charge 20.47p/kwh!! I am on the std variable tariff so what is going on??? At that price I can’t afford to put the boiler on!!!

I suspect there has been a hiccup somewhere. Both mine and my daughter's accounts are showing the 10.3p rate. It will likely correct itself.

You’re probably correct, I hope so - I nearly had a heart attack when I saw it! They do like mucking about don’t they.
I posted as I wondered if the glitch had affected anyone else or whether it’s just me they have a grudge against due to me having a really good low electric fix with them which runs to September 20240 -
EON keep telling me my gas is going up from 3.84p/kWh to 15.11p/kWh, when I know it can't go higher than 10.3p/kWh, I think they are all struggling to implement the PCG.

If you have signed up for a fixed price tariff, the unit cost can certainly be higher than any OFGEM or EPG cap. Although Eon.Next have said that they will drop prices, their communications have been either nonexistent or vague to the point of being useless.Astria said:EON keep telling me my gas is going up from 3.84p/kWh to 15.11p/kWh, when I know it can't go higher than 10.3p/kWh, I think they are all struggling to implement the PCG.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

That could be correct as October 1st the Ofgem rates for Gas were approx 15p kWh.Astria said:EON keep telling me my gas is going up from 3.84p/kWh to 15.11p/kWh, when I know it can't go higher than 10.3p/kWh, I think they are all struggling to implement the PCG.
So that's probably the Ofgem price cap figure which you then receive the 4.2p reduction on.
Don't forget regional variations some pay more and some less than the floor price.0
